Thin Joint Masonry
Thin Joint Masonry technique helps to reduce the depth of sand and cement used as a binder for bricks. The depth can be reduced from 10mm to less than 3mm. This method is very effective and boosts productivity. Since this method can be executed very quickly, its used in long walls. This method has its advantages as well. It improves air tightness, sound performance and thermal performance. The amount of sand and cement mix is reduced, productivity can increase at least 15%. The mix dries up rapidly and retains the bond strength in only 1-2 hours. Since it dries up so quickly, the risk of “floating” is eliminated.
